Zebra bromeliad is a seriously showy, rosette-forming bromeliad loved for its arching deep-green leaves boldly banded with silvery “zebra” stripes. When it’s happy, it can send up a tall, upright flower spike from late spring through autumn. The real long-lasting color comes from the bracts—glowing shades of red, orange, and yellow—with small red flowers tucked among them. Like many bromeliads, it holds water in a central “cup,” giving it that classic tropical tank-bromeliad vibe.

Scientific Name Aechmea chantinii
Family / Genus Bromeliaceae / Aechmea
Origin Northern South America (tropical rainforests; especially Colombia, Venezuela, and the Guianas).
