Yinchen wormwood (Artemisia capillaris) is a strongly aromatic Artemisia loved for its soft, feathery, finely divided leaves that often gather into a dense basal rosette. It grows as a semi-woody perennial herb and, from mid-summer into autumn, it carries many tiny, tight flower heads. In gardens it can be a handsome, naturalistic edging or groundcover in sunny, well-drained spots, and in some regional food traditions the tender growth is also enjoyed as a seasonal edible herb (always make sure you have correct identification before eating).
