Tatarian dogwood is a tough, deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub loved for its year-round show—especially the bright red stems that glow in winter. In early to mid-summer it produces small creamy-white flower clusters, followed by white to slightly bluish-white berries. It’s famously tolerant of wet ground, making it a great choice for hedging, winter cut branches, and stabilizing streambanks or pond edges.

Scientific Name Cornus alba
Family / Genus Cornaceae / Cornus
Origin Native across northern Eurasia; in China it occurs in the Northeast and parts of Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shaanxi, and Shandong.
Aliases Red-Barked Dogwood, Redtwig Dogwood, Siberian Dogwood
