Purple-leaf plum

Autumn Family & Genus Fast Growing
admin March 25, 2026 5 min read

Purple-leaf plum is a small, deciduous ornamental tree loved for its rich purple-to-burgundy leaves that can hold their color for much of the growing season—especially in strong sun. In early spring it opens clouds of small blossoms (often pale pink to nearly white), and later it may set small, plum-like fruits in summer. With its vibrant foliage, quick growth, and willingness to resprout after pruning, it’s a popular choice for adding bold color along paths, on lawns, and near buildings.
