Paperbush is a deciduous shrub beloved for its intensely sweet fragrance and cheerful golden-yellow flower clusters that appear in late winter to early spring—often before the leaves fully emerge. It’s also famous for its stout yet surprisingly bendy branches, which can be trained (and sometimes even gently tied) into playful shapes, giving the plant winter structure even when leafless. After flowering, it develops egg-shaped fruits with a distinctive honeycomb-like texture.

Scientific Name Edgeworthia chrysantha
Family / Genus Thymelaeaceae / Edgeworthia
