Green Virginia creeper is a tough, woody climbing vine in the grape family that loves to “hug” surfaces. It climbs using branched tendrils that end in little adhesive pads, letting it cling tightly to bark, stone, and walls. Exceptionally adaptable, it grows well in moist shade yet also handles sun, summer heat, and winter cold—making it a reliable, fast cover for fences, pergolas, trellises, and building facades with lush green foliage.

Scientific Name Parthenocissus laetevirens
Family / Genus Vitaceae / Parthenocissus
Origin Native to China, recorded from Henan, Anhui, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi. It grows in valley woodlands and scrub on hillsides, climbing on trees and cliff faces. It can be planted on both shaded and sunny aspects; in colder regions it is often planted on sun-facing sites.
