Golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum) is a famously tough, fast-growing tropical vine that earns its “Devil’s Ivy” nickname by staying green and lively even when care isn’t perfect. It’s loved for its glossy, heart-shaped leaves—often splashed with golden-yellow variegation—and its versatility: let it trail from a hanging basket, drape from a shelf, or train it up a moss pole where the leaves can size up dramatically. It thrives best in warm rooms with bright, indirect light and moderate humidity, but it also tolerates lower light better than many houseplants. Bonus for plant lovers: it roots extremely easily from node cuttings, and it can even be grown long-term in water with occasional nutrients.
