Fabri Oak

Autumn Edible Family & Genus

Fabri oak is a deciduous oak that grows as a small to medium-sized tree (sometimes a large shrub), prized for its handsome branching shape and seasonal leaf character. It’s especially known for its strong ability to resprout after cutting or damage (a classic coppicing-friendly oak trait). In the landscape, it shines as a specimen tree or planted in groups to create a natural, woodland feel. Like many oaks, it produces acorns that are edible in principle—but they generally need proper leaching/processing to remove bitter tannins first.
