Dendrobium Orchid

Dendrobium orchids—especially the popular nobile-type “cane dendrobiums”—are loved for their bamboo-like canes lined with clusters of showy, often sweetly fragrant blooms. They typically flower from autumn into early spring, and many will naturally slow down in winter: leaves may drop, watering is reduced, and the plant focuses on setting buds for its big seasonal display. Give them bright light (with protection from harsh midday sun), medium to high humidity, and—most importantly—a noticeable day–night temperature difference. Pot them in a very airy orchid bark mix (a clear pot is a bonus) so roots can breathe and you can easily keep tabs on moisture.
