Creeping wood sorrel (Oxalis corniculata) is a cheerful little, mat-forming herb that hugs the ground and quickly fills in open patches. Its clover-like, three-part leaves are softly hairy, and it pops out lots of tiny, sunny yellow flowers over a long season. It’s impressively adaptable—happy in sun or shade—though it usually looks fuller and flowers more in brighter light, making it a common (sometimes too-enthusiastic) groundcover in gardens and pots.

Scientific Name Oxalis corniculata
Family / Genus Oxalidaceae / Oxalis
Origin Widespread across China; typically found in woodland, shrubland, and moist gullies/valleys.
Aliases Creeping Oxalis, Horned Wood Sorrel, Procumbent Yellow Sorrel, Yellow Wood Sorrel
