Climbing Groundsel

Autumn Fast Growing Flowering Plants

Climbing groundsel is a vigorous, perennial twining herb that loves to scramble—threading through shrubs, spilling over rocks, and quickly giving a planting a natural “wild” look. It carries narrow, pointed leaves with clearly visible veins, then puts on a late-season show of many small, cheerful yellow, daisy-like flower heads. After flowering it forms slender, cylindrical fruits (achenes), and it can often self-seed to create an informal groundcover over time.

Scientific Name Senecio scandens
Family / Genus Asteraceae / Senecio
Origin Widely distributed across China; typically found along woodland edges, wasteland, shrubland, and on rocky slopes.
Aliases Climbing Senecio, Scandent Groundsel
