Chinese white pear is a hardy, deciduous pear tree loved for two seasonal highlights: clouds of white spring blossoms and crisp, sweet, yellow fruit in late summer to early autumn. It usually develops a broad, spreading crown and a strong root system, making it a dependable orchard and landscape tree in temperate regions. The fruit is commonly enjoyed fresh and can also be cooked down into pear paste or syrup. It’s notably adaptable—handling cold, drought, brief waterlogging, and even alkaline or slightly saline soils—though it performs best with full sun and deep, well-drained sandy loam.
