Butterfly Bush

Autumn Family & Genus Fast Growing
admin March 24, 2026 7 min read

Butterfly bush is a fast-growing, deciduous shrub loved for its long, cone-shaped clusters of sweetly fragrant, nectar-rich flowers that pull in butterflies, bees, and other pollinators like a magnet. Its arching stems and soft, gray-green leaves give it a relaxed, cottage-garden look, and it flowers for weeks—typically from early summer into fall—often right up to the first frost in mild years. It’s tough, tolerant of drought once established, and famously able to thrive in rough spots, which is part of why it can spread so readily in some regions.
