Arrowhead vine (Syngonium podophyllum) is a fast-growing, easygoing tropical houseplant adored for its crisp “arrowhead” juvenile leaves and its fun habit of changing shape as it matures—older leaves often become more lobed. It’s commonly sold as a compact little mound of foliage, but given time it will stretch into a trailing or climbing vine. Let it spill from a hanging basket, keep it bushy with regular pinching, or train it up a moss pole for a tidy, upright look. It also roots readily from cuttings, making it one of the easiest plants to share with friends.

Scientific Name Syngonium podophyllum
Family / Genus Araceae / Syngonium
Origin Native to tropical America (Mexico to Bolivia and the West Indies); widely cultivated and naturalized in many warm regions.
Aliases Arrowhead Plant, Goosefoot Plant, Nephthytis, Silver-Veined Arrowhead Vine
