Arabian Jasmine

Autumn Edible Family & Genus
March 24, 2026

Arabian jasmine (Jasminum sambac) is an evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub that can also be trained as a small climber. Plant lovers adore it for its glossy deep-green leaves and those famously waxy white blooms that perfume the air—especially on warm evenings. It’s a classic balcony and windowsill plant in a pot, and in warm climates it becomes a richly scented garden shrub. Beyond ornament, its flowers are a star ingredient in scenting jasmine tea and are treasured in perfumery and festive floral traditions in parts of Asia.
