Blume's spirea (Spiraea blumei) is a dense, neatly mounding deciduous shrub that puts on a charming spring show of small white flowers. It’s loved by gardeners for being dependable and easygoing in sunny landscapes—starting the season with fresh foliage, then covering itself in compact clusters of “pearly” blooms.

Typically found on sunny mountain slopes, in mixed woodland, or along roadsides at about 500–2000 m (1,640–6,560 ft) elevation.
