Siebold's crabapple (Malus sieboldii) is a hardy, deciduous shrub to small tree best loved for its cheerful spring blossom and its tiny, bead-like crabapples later in the year. It’s a great choice for naturalistic gardens and shrub borders because it’s adaptable and tough once established—and it also has a practical side, as it can be used as rootstock material for cultivated apples.
