Small yellow pond-lily (Nuphar pumila) is a hardy, rhizome-forming aquatic perennial loved for its glossy floating leaves—often heart- to horseshoe-shaped—and its bright, golden-yellow, cup-like flowers that sit at or just above the water surface. It’s happiest in still or slow-moving freshwater, where it adds an easy splash of cheerful color and classic “pond garden” character through early to mid-summer.
