Wilson's dogwood is a striking, long-lived deciduous tree best known for its handsome, upright form and its beautiful gray to blue-gray bark that naturally flakes off in plate-like patches. In late spring it produces clusters of small white flowers, followed by round, berry-like drupes that ripen in autumn. Beyond its ornamental appeal, it’s also valued for notably hard wood traditionally used for durable items—making it a great example of a tree that’s both pretty and practical.
