Hairy bramble (Rubus hirsutus) is a lively, deciduous bramble shrub that forms thickets and carries softly hairy leaves and stems. In spring it opens clean white flowers, followed by small, nearly round fruits that are tart-sweet and edible. In the wild it often tucks itself into moist, partly shaded spots—like hillside paths and shrub thickets—and it’s appreciated locally as both a foraged fruit plant and a traditional herbal resource.

Scientific Name Rubus hirsutus
Family / Genus Rosaceae / Rubus
Origin Recorded from central to southern China, including Henan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, and Guangxi. Typically found in moist, shady places such as roadsides on hillsides and within shrub thickets.
Aliases Bramble, Wild Raspberry
