Chinese trumpet vine (凌霄) is a vigorous, woody, perennial climber that happily scrambles up sturdy supports using tiny aerial rootlets. It wears lush, pinnate leaves (usually 7–9 leaflets) and puts on a bold summer show with large, flared, trumpet-shaped flowers—glowing red to red‑orange inside with warmer orange tones on the outside. After flowering, it forms long, slender, bean‑pod-like seed capsules that add extra interest into late season.
