Vanda Orchid

Bedroom Family & Genus Flowering Plants
admin March 24, 2026 5 min read

Vanda orchids are show-stopping tropical orchids loved for their large, intensely colorful blooms—often speckled or beautifully checkered. They’re famous for being a little “high-maintenance,” but in a very rewarding way: give them bright light (without scorching midday sun), steady warmth, high humidity, and lots of fresh air movement, and they can flower spectacularly. Unlike many houseplant orchids, Vandas are often grown bare-root in open slatted baskets or in large clear pots with very little coarse material, so their thick aerial roots can breathe and dry quickly after watering.
