New Guinea impatiens is a bright, tropical-looking plant loved for its steady parade of rounded, cheerful blooms in pink, lavender, red, white, and orange. The flowers pop beautifully against lush foliage that’s usually deep green, but can also have a rich bronzy flush depending on the cultivar. It’s a star in summer containers and shady beds outdoors, and it also makes a reliable flowering houseplant from late spring through autumn when given bright light away from harsh, hot sun.
