Cape shamrock is a cheerful, bulb-forming oxalis loved for its shamrock-like leaves and bright, buttercup-yellow flowers. It stays low and clumping, making it a charming pot plant and (in mild climates) a seasonal groundcover that can quickly turn into dense, flower-filled patches from fall through spring. It’s also famously vigorous—wonderful in containers, but in some regions it can spread so readily that it’s considered invasive.
