Globe amaranth is a cheerful warm-season plant famous for its clover-like, globe-shaped “flowers” that keep their color for an amazingly long time. What looks like the bloom is actually a bundle of crisp, papery bracts wrapped around tiny, subtle true flowers in the center. It grows in a neat, upright, branching form and comes in lively shades of purple, magenta, pink, red, orange, white, and lilac—making it a superstar for sunny beds, containers, and especially for cutting and drying (the blooms can look good for years).
