Powdery thalia is a bold, clump-forming perennial water-garden plant that rises out of shallow water with big, elegant leaves coated in a powdery, blue-gray “bloom,” sometimes kissed with purple along the edges. Through the warm season it sends up tall, airy, branched flower spikes sprinkled with small violet to blue‑purple blooms—an easy way to add a tropical, architectural feel to pond margins and boggy planting areas.
