Flamingo flower (Anthurium andraeanum) is a beloved tropical houseplant famous for its glossy, heart-shaped leaves and its long-lasting, waxy “blooms.” Those eye-catching “petals” are actually colorful spathes (often red, but also pink and especially crisp white), wrapped around a finger-like spike called the spadix. With good light and warmth, it can flower on and off through the year, making it a favorite gift plant and a stylish indoor accent.
